An Introduction to the Organisation


Our client is dedicated to helping people in horticulture. They provide free support, information, advice, financial assistance and services for horticulturalists and their loved ones experiencing illness, disability, bereavement, family breakdown and financial difficulties.

They have a real focus on improving the health and wellbeing outcomes of people working in horticulture and have an ambitious preventative strategy to create better futures for people working in horticulture.

They are now looking for a Researcher to join them on a part-time, permanent basis, working 30 hours per week.

How Your Role Contributes

As a Researcher, you will help to shape our client’s understanding of the challenges people face and how best to respond to them by designing and delivering impactful research.

You will design, execute, and report on both qualitative and quantitative research initiatives, manage projects and conduct high-quality data analysis through interviews, focus groups, surveys, and statistical techniques.

Aiming to inform and shape our client’s practical support and services, your work will be rooted in a passion for creating better futures, ensuring that they remain attuned to the evolving needs of those they serve.

Additionally, you will:

- Support internal policy development through evidence-based research
- Conduct literature reviews and create briefings for internal and external audiences
- Present research findings in accessible formats
- Lead the development of the Learning and Development Hub’s research content
- Provide support for the creation of research funding applications and reports

What You’ll Bring

To be considered as a Researcher, you will need:

- Experience in a research environment, including working on action research projects
- Experience of quantitative and qualitative research methods and techniques for analysis
- Experience of co-production techniques, analysis software and data manipulation
- Knowledge of best practice and legislation governing research, data protection and safeguarding participants
- Knowledge of current social policy issues relating to health, financial exclusion and social inequalities
- The ability to design lived experience interviews and research surveys
