THE ROLE

  • To maintain consistent and professional communication with contributors 
  • To work closely with the Producer/Director on location to ensure the success of the shoot both editorially and technically
  • To help the PD identify and keep track of potential stories 
  • To support the Producer/Director and Production Management team in the planning of shoots and staying across any last minute changes.
  • To help organise and set up filming at various ad hoc locations, such as livestock marts
  • Helping with location sound, setting up and managing Go Pros and occasional self-shooting to 2nd camera level
  • Location data wrangling, and ensuring all material filmed or recorded on the shoot is safely backed up, documented and transported back to the main production office.
  • Potentially take production stills 
  • WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

  • Competent technical skills, including experience of location sound, self-shooting and Data wrangling.
  • Able to stay on location for 2 to 4 days per week. This can sometimes be for longer, and can include some weekend work for which you’ll be given days off in lieu.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Comfortable working in close proximity to farm animals and in a farming/outdoor environment in often inclement weather.
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to maintain a creative, problem-solving approach in fast-changing and challenging situations.
  • Researcher TV broadcast credits on observational documentary programmes.
  • Full UK driving licence
