About the College:I am working with a college with the largest SEN centre in Surrey, They offer cutting-edge facilities and an inclusive learning environment for students aged 16+ with Special Educational Needs (SEN). With a brand-new building opening soon, they staff with all the tools they need to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
About the Role:I am looking for an experienced Foundation/SEN Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching across a range of entry-level subjects, including Skills for Life, Preparation for Adulthood, Cookery, and Hairdressing. You will play a key role in helping our students develop vital life skills, build independence, and prepare for their future.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in entry-level subjects aimed at developing practical life skills and preparing students for adulthood.
- Utilize our state-of-the-art facilities to create a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
- Tailor teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of SEN learners, ensuring that all students receive the appropriate support.
- Collaborate closely with support staff, families, and external agencies to provide holistic care and guidance.
- Assess and monitor student progress, setting clear goals and providing ongoing feedback to help students reach their potential.
- Experience as a Foundation/SEN Lecturer, with a proven track record of working with young people who have additional needs.
- Strong subject knowledge across a variety of entry-level topics, including life skills and vocational areas such as cookery and hairdressing.
- A deep passion for supporting SEN learners, empowering them to achieve their goals and succeed in life.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
- A recognised teaching qualification and experience in SEN or foundation learning in further education settings.
- Being able to communicate with parents/guardians is very important
