Senior Bioinformatician - Target Prioritisation

We are currently looking for a Senior Bioinformatician with a strong background within target discovery and prioritisation to join a leading cancer research start-up company based in London. As the Senior Bioinformatician you will be responsible for contributing to the team’s outstanding research by using computational biology approaches to prioritise novel therapeutic targets.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Your duties as the Senior Bioinformatician – Target Prioritisation will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:


  • You will be closely working with the other members of the team to use computational biology approaches to prioritise novel therapeutic targets.


  • You will be building pipelines to analyse genetic and functional genomics data within cancer and validating potential targets by gathering evidence from publicly available data.


  • You will collaborate with the computational biology and software engineering teams to create and maintain high-quality and well-documented code.



ROLE REQUIREMENTS:


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Bioinformatician – Target Prioritisation we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:


1. PhD in Bioinformatics-based research, or something closely similar.


2. Proven experience in working with a diverse range of functional genomics data types (including consortium data) and population-level genetic resources (e.g. gnomAD, Open Targets, etc.)


3. A working knowledge and practical experience with python/R, Unix/Bash, NextFlow, Docker and AWS.
