Sacher AI is seeking a Senior Generative AI Researcher and Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge LLM solutions. This fully remote role, with occasional travel, is ideal for an experienced professional eager to drive impactful innovations in healthcare, finance, and legal sectors.

Your Role

As the Senior Generative AI Researcher and Engineer, you will lead the advancement of LLM and generative AI projects, managing the entire lifecycle from concept to deployment. Working closely with data scientists, product managers, behavioural scientists, and clinicians, you’ll integrate LLM technology into transformative products, interface with clients to ensure solutions meet their needs, and keep Sacher AI at the forefront of generative AI research and application.

Key Responsibilities

• LLM Development: Lead and contribute to the design, training, and deployment of state-of-the-art LLMs and generative AI models, ensuring high performance, safety, and quality standards.

• Continuous Research and Innovation: Keep up with the latest advancements in LLMs, generative AI, and machine learning methodologies, bringing new insights and technologies to the team and driving continuous improvement.

• Project Management: Manage and execute end-to-end machine learning projects, from research and experimentation to deployment, incorporating best practices and maintaining rigorous project oversight.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and other team members to integrate LLM technologies into Sacher AI’s products and services, tailoring solutions to specific use cases in healthcare.

• Client Engagement: Interface with clients to understand their unique needs, present tailored LLM solutions, and provide ongoing support to deliver maximum impact and ensure satisfaction.

• Best Practices Implementation: Implement industry best practices for LLM training, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and evaluation to optimise model performance and maintain high standards.

Key Skills

• Technical Expertise in LLMs: Deep understanding of LLMs, generative AI, and related technologies, with experience in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and foundation model applications.

• ML Framework Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python and expertise in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and relevant libraries for large-scale model development.

• LLM API Integration: Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI) and integrating these technologies into production environments.

• Database and Data Modelling Skills: Proficiency with databases, data modelling, and optimisation to support large-scale ML applications and efficient data processing.

• MLOps: Strong skills in MLOps practices, including experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, model versioning, monitoring tools, and automated testing frameworks for ML systems.

• Project Leadership: Proven experience managing and leading complex AI projects, with a strong ability to organise tasks, timelines, and deliverables across cross-functional teams.

• Client Interaction and Presentation: Excellent communication skills, with experience in client-facing roles; able to present technical solutions clearly and manage client expectations effectively.

• Collaboration and Adaptability: Skilled at working in cross-functional teams, balancing multiple projects, and adapting to shifting priorities and client needs.

Requirements

• Experience: 7+ years in ML research and engineering, with a focus on LLMs and generative AI.

• Education: PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Industry Knowledge: Proven experience across industry, startup, and/or contracting environments, ideally with applications in healthcare or other regulated sectors, such as financial services.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other relevant ML frameworks.

• LLM Expertise: Extensive experience in prompt engineering, working with LLM APIs, RAG systems, and fine-tuning foundation models.

• MLOps: Demonstrated skills in CI/CD, containerisation, model monitoring, and automated testing for robust ML deployments.

• Database Knowledge: Strong experience with databases and data optimisation for ML applications.

• Desirable Skills: Experience with recommendation systems or similar advanced ML applications is a plus.
