Senior Postgraduate Research Officer - Strand, London, WC2R 2LS
About us:
As the newest of King’s College London’s nine faculties, the King’s Business School (KBS) has been accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS since opening in 2017. It is rated a top 10 business school for research in the UK based on the Research Excellence Framework 2021. The Business School is looking to find new approaches to business in a rapidly changing world. It is well positioned to draw upon the interdisciplinary strengths across the King’s community, to partner with business and civil society, and to develop a mission critical strategy focused on a sustainable economy.
The KBS doctoral programme spans the disciplines of management, marketing, economics and finance and has ambitious strategic plans to grow, enhance and develop. This includes innovating and renewing our doctoral training programme to prepare our students to launch their research projects and bolster skill development, expanding doctoral recruitment and enhancing student experience and doctoral research culture. Currently the School’s total cohort of doctoral students is around 120, full-time and part-time, with approximately 35-45 new students admitted each year. The doctoral programme offers our students dedicated campus study spaces, a generous Doctoral Training & Support Grant and a range of events which includes the annual KBS Doctoral Research Symposium.
About the role:

The role holder will work closely with the Associate Dean for Doctoral Studies, PGR Manager, PGR Officer, School Research Manager, the PhD Coordinators for Admissions and Examinations, the departmental Doctoral Studies Leads, student representatives and KBS Postgraduate Research Sub-committee members to ensure that the doctoral programme runs to high standards, both in terms of academic quality and student experience. This role is embedded within a growing Professional Services research team and there will be opportunities for cross-team working and projects to learn more about research support across other areas such as impact and research funding.
The Senior PGR Officer will support all KBS PGR related enquires, administrative tasks across the doctoral programme, projects and initiatives and the implementation of PGR policy and strategy within the KBS Doctoral Studies Team. They will coordinate admissions processes and inductions, support communications across the programme, oversee key study milestones and progress management, organise events including the annual doctoral research symposium, support initiatives to optimise student experience, administer studentships, and support the KBS Postgraduate Research Sub-committee.
