Publicerad 2024-11-05

The role

We are seeking a talented genetic epidemiologist/medical statistician with an interest in developing and applying causal inference methodology in genetic epidemiology. This individual in this role will develop new methods that aim to improve causal inference in a multi-trait setting. This will primarily involve integrating Instrumental variables/Mendelian randomization with network estimation methods. You will work closely with collaborators in areas such as cancer, behavioural, reproductive and psychiatric epidemiology to apply these methods at scale.

Interview date: 12th December 2024

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for conducting simulation studies to assess and compare novel methods integrating Instrumental Variables/Mendelian randomization with network estimation methods. You will analyse genetic epidemiological data to implement these methods. You will write R packages and accompanying documentation for dissemination of the methods developed. You will be expected to present the findings at conferences and lead the write up of the work for publication.

You should apply if

You should apply for this post if you have a keen interest in causal inference methodology and are interested in developing methods within a genetic epidemiological context. You will have strong statistical, data management and computational skills along with strong writing and communication skills. You will be a good team worker keen to collaborate with researchers from a range of disciplines. We welcome applications from individuals with experience in the use and development of methods for causal inference from any relevant discipline.
