We are seeking a technically proficient Senior Research Manager to lead projects within our Research and Insight practice. This role is pivotal to ensuring the delivery of high-quality insights projects for both internal agency needs and external clients. The successful candidate will bring a robust technical background, managerial expertise, and a passion for driving innovation and efficiency in research and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project leadership, often managing multiple projects at once
  • Developing the practice and driving innovation
  • Managing and developing a team of researchers
  • Take briefs, translating them into detailed project plans
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure timely and within-budget delivery
  • Oversee or lead the execution of research and insight projects, ensuring technical rigor and accuracy
  • Acts as the quality controller, ensuring all outputs meet exacting standards
  • Ensure all data handling complies with data privacy regulations
  • Ensure all projects provide actionable insights and recommendations, connecting to the client’s reality and the bigger picture
  • Developing the practice and driving innovation
  • Develop and enhance our research propositions, methodologies, and technical capabilities
  • Identify and adopt new tools and technologies to improve efficiency and the quality of outputs
  • Develop client-specific value propositions and case studies
  • Build the practice’s reputation internally and externally
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to the team
  • Coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure seamless project execution.

Experience and skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Marketing, Business, Statistics, Data Science) or equivalent qualification. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social science, preferably with modules in applied research, international development, behavioural science etc is preferred
  • Significant experience in a research or insights role, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and leading teams
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality research and insights to clients
  • Experience working within a marketing function at a company or within a marketing agency is valuable
  • Experience in both B2B and B2C markets is highly desirable
  • Technical Skills:
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative research, as well as the use of syndicated research, social listening and other approaches
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Expertise in advanced statistical techniques, i.e. regression analysis, factor analysis, and structural equation modelling (SEM)
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their application in marketing analytics is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis (SPSS, R, Python)
  • Familiarity with survey design, experimental design, and other primary research methodologies
  • Understanding of big data technologies and their application in business insights
