Technical & Statistical Research Manager

We have an exciting opportunity within our Technical Standards and Operational Research team here at City & Guilds. 

As a Technical and Statistical Research Manager you'll carry out technical research and quality assurance to assure the quality of our assessments and undertake research projects to support City & Guilds’ position as a leading voice in vocational and technical qualifications.

About the role

You will work within an established team of Research Managers, reporting directly into the senior manager, where you will plan, manage and deliver quantitative research projects by working collaboratively with internal teams, customers and stakeholders.

You will enjoy providing advice, guidance and support to ensure the validity, reliability and quality of our products, presenting your findings to a wide range of internal and external audiences. Within the role you will have the opportunity to develop your own technical expertise within the education sector and you will be proactive in your approach to research by attending conferences, reading reports, papers and articles.

About you

You will need to be a graduate, professional or hold vocational qualifications within education assessment or statistics with in-depth knowledge of quantitative research and statistical methods. You will be an expert in statistical analysis and interpreting data as well as a highly proficient statistical programmer. 

You will have the ability to simplify complex technical and statistical issues from your findings and present them to a wide range of stakeholders. Naturally you will be a critical thinker that enjoys problem solving and has good attention to detail.

Knowledge of the vocational educational sector or expertise in educational measurement, psychometrics and assessment research would be beneficial but are not essentials.
