IÉSEG School of Management
IÉSEG is an internationally oriented and highly rigorous school with a strong commitment to social responsibility.
As a French Grande École and member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles, IÉSEG is amongst the most prestigious higher education institutions in the country. Our quality and excellence has been rewarded by the internationally recognized accreditations EQUIS and AACSB.
Established in 1964 in Lille, the school now has a second campus in Paris – La Défense, Europe’s biggest business hub. Across the two campuses, the School now has more than 4300 students.
IÉSEG’s 5-year Grande École Program consists of a 3-year Bachelor program covering the fundamentals of management followed by a 2-year MSc program in which the students deepen their management knowledge and choose a specialization. The diploma approved by the French Ministry of Education has also been awarded the grade de Master (Master’s degree).
In addition, IÉSEG offers Bachelor, Post-Graduate and MBA programs entirely taught in English.
More than 80% of IÉSEG’s faculty is international, and the School has a network of more than 230 partner universities in more than 60 countries.
IÉSEG collaborates closely with the largest institute for fundamental research in Europe, the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).
Academic Mission
IÉSEG’s mission is to prepare students to become complete and international managers who initiate change, and contribute to the development of responsible, innovative and enlightened organizations.
IÉSEG’s mission is rooted in the history of the School, which has always highlighted the necessity of giving students in-depth, multi-disciplinary knowledge and operational know-how combined with a strategic vision.
The relevance of the French Grande École stems from its commitment to meet the needs of the corporate world. IÉSEG prepares students to successfully manage the challenges of leadership by giving them ample opportunities during their studies to deal with the kinds of decisions and issues managers are confronted with in the real world.
IÉSEG students learn through a variety of methods how to apply leadership and teamwork to real management problems, which requires early exposure to the corporate world. All IÉSEG programmes include internships and/or projects in companies, many of which are international or contain an international component.
Research Mission
The School’s intensive research activity logically stems from our commitment to scientific integrity, intellectual rigor, innovation and high academic standards. The importance of academic research at IÉSEG is also based on our commitment to serve organizations, as illustrated in the mission statement, not only by providing them with the managers they need and by offering executive courses, but also by conducting research activities that lead to results that can be applied to these organisations.
IÉSEG does research for publication in academic journals that helps push the boundaries of knowledge and contributes to the fields of management and economics studies, and faculty perform applied research that contributes directly to companies and/or is published in journals of applied research. The School’s ambition of contributing to the general development of organizations in terms of value creation and in terms of corporate responsibility, innovation and humanistic values demands significant applied and basic academic research.
The mission stresses the international orientation of the School, and IÉSEG is a truly international community of students, faculty and administrative staff. Working in such a mix of cultures adds an important dimension to the School’s education project, and IÉSEG is one of the few French business schools where all students actually receive training in an international and multicultural environment.
