ForWind

ForWind is the joint Center for Wind Energy Research of the Universities of Oldenburg, Hannover and Bremen with a basic research ranging broadly in both engineering and in physics.

ForWind conducts fundamental research in wind energy, providing scientific support for industrial projects, organizes education and further education for future experts and conducts specialist workshops and conventions.

A cornerstone in ForWind’s area of research is the usage of offshore wind energy. The center is a partner in the German research programme “Research at Alpha Ventus” (RAVE), comprising projects promoted by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) which centre on the probing of offshore wind energy.

With its partners German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Fraunhofer IWES Nordwest ForWind forms the Wind Energy Research Alliance.
