Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences (NCMLS)
The Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences (NCMLS) is a leading multidisciplinary research school within the domain of molecular mechanisms of disease and particularly in the fields of molecular medicine, cell biology and translational research. The NCMLS accommodates research groups from the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre and the Faculty of Science at the Radboud University Nijmegen. Our research is focused along seven main research themes in keeping with our mission towards 'Understanding the molecular basis of disease'.
The major goal of the NCMLS is to generate basic knowledge from molecular medical research and to translate this knowledge into clinical application through the development of disease diagnostics and innovation in the treatment of patients. The multi-disciplinary approach to research in molecular life science is reflected in an established NCMLS Graduate School with a dedicated 2-year research honours MSc degree in Molecular Mechanisms of Disease and a follow-up 4-year PhD program. NCMLS innovation is advanced through a number of Technology Platforms, such as microscope imaging, genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics.
The NCMLS prides itself on being an international research school offering a stimulating environment for scientists of all levels. In addition to our Master's and PhD programs, the NCMLS actively participates in a post-doc platform and is committed to promoting career-track models, such as the UMC post-doc fellowship.
