About the role

The postholder will lead their own in research in psychiatry of child and adolescent psychiatry and promote collaboration across disciplinary boundaries within UCL. The postholder is expected to attract, mentor and support clinical and non-clinical early career researchers. The postholder will be expected to contribute to the overall scientific mission of UCL, working with colleagues across psychiatry, psychology, neuroscience and beyond. The post will include specialist teaching duties on postgraduate non-clinical and professional courses and the supervision of research students and junior staff. There is extensive IT and professional support for teaching within UCL.

The postholder will have an honorary consultant psychiatrist appointment with North London NHS Foundation Trust with four clinical sessions in addition to four academic sessions in UCL. This is a new post available on an open-ended basis. The post is offered part time ( FTE / 8 PAs) and on the Clinical Consultant Academic pay scale which ranges from £, - £, according to seniority, plus £2, London Weighting allowance (pro-rata).

About you

The successful candidate will have experience working with young adults with ADHD or specific training in adult ADHD or neurodevelopmental disorders and a track record of publications in high quality peer-reviewed scientific journals. A higher academic career PhD or equivalent attainment in research publications and GMC registration
with a current licence to practice and on the specialist register for Child and Adolescent psychiatry is essential for this post. Evidence of obtaining and managing research funds and experience teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level and supervising research students are desirable criteria for this role.
