ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for an appropriately experienced Lecturer (Teaching) to become part of the subject team for the PGCE Science and/or MA Education (Science).

The successful candidate is expected to engage in relevant teaching and supervision of students for either/both of these programmes. You will contribute to academic policy and planning at Faculty, Department, and programme levels, and to the development of the curriculum, both within the Department and across relevant programme areas through ongoing curriculum scholarship and / or research. In addition, the successful candidate will pursue academic excellence through a continuing commitment to academic, professional, and personal development.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will have master’s (or higher) degree in education or related field (either complete or nearing completion) and Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent. You will have experience of working effectively with student teachers and/or other school colleagues to support their professional development, alongside a working knowledge of ITE and/or Master’s programmes. You will have good knowledge of the science curriculum and a wide range of learning and teaching approaches suited to the needs of postgraduate students. In addition, you will have a successful teaching experience in schools and the potential to teach successfully at a higher education level (if not already experienced in this sector of education).
