Clinical Professor/ Associate Professor in Immuno-Oncology

<b>About us</b><br/><br/>UCL is one of the U.K.s premier research and teaching Universities, ranked within the top 15 global universities, and has one of the largest Biomedical Faculties in Europe. It is closely aligned to University College London Hospitals (UCLH), which has state-of-the-art facilities in central London, and continues to grow through a major investment in building. In the last 8 years, the UCH Macmillan Cancer Centre opened opposite the UCL Cancer Institute, the hub for cancer research and translation research, and in January 2022, the UCL Proton Beam Therapy Centre housing the new proton therapy centre and haematology and transplantation treated its first patients. In 2019, a new Eastman Dental and Royal Ear Nose and Throat Hospital was opened. Clinical Cancer Trials have been a key component of UCL and UCLHs research ethos. The Cancer Research UK and UCL Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) opened in 1996 and is one of the largest academic cancer trials centres in the UK.<br/><br/><b>About the role</b><br/><br/>The postholder will be expected to develop an independent Immuno-Oncology research group at the UCL Cancer Institute and an international profile, positioning UCL at the forefront in this area. The UCLH/UCL partnership and the GOSH/UCL partnership have been awarded Biomedical Research Centre status by the National Institute for Health Research, and cancer research is one of their major themes.<br/>The successful candidate will be expected to lead a research group and achieve successful additional grant support independently. There are opportunities to develop an educational programme. This position will form an important part of the wider UCLH/UCL Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) portfolio and the Cancer Research UK Centre at UCL.<br/><br/><b>About you</b><br/><br/>Eligibility for full GMC Registration and medical oncology accreditation are required (MRCP or equivalent necessary). A further post-graduate degree (e.g. PhD or equivalent) is essential.
