About Us

The Centre for Rheumatic Diseases at King’s College London, housed within the Department of Inflammation Biology, is a recognised EULAR Centre of Excellence. We are committed to pioneering research and innovation in the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of rheumatic and immune-mediated inflammatory diseases.

 

Our multidisciplinary team comprises over 30 academics, research staff, and PhD students, collaborating on cutting-edge projects that address pressing healthcare challenges. About the role

We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Senior Lecturer in Rheumatology to join the Centre for Rheumatic Diseases at King’s College London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to world-leading research and education while combining academic expertise with clinical practice.

 

The purpose of this role is to advance our research in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, with a focus on the safety and effectiveness of targeted immunotherapies. The appointee will lead innovative research programmes, leveraging real-world data and advanced methodologies to improve the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. The role also involves fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, both nationally and internationally, and contributing to the strategic objectives of the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine.

 

Reporting to the Director of the Centre for Rheumatic Diseases, the Clinical Senior Lecturer will also hold an honorary NHS consultant contract, enabling integration of clinical and academic responsibilities. This dual role ensures that research is closely informed by clinical practice, driving innovations that directly benefit patient outcomes.

 

The successful candidate will also play a key role in education, contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes through research-led teaching and mentoring. Responsibilities include supervising PhD students, leading teaching modules, and supporting the development of early-career researchers within the Centre.
