St John’s admits 6 or more undergraduates each year to read for degrees which include the study of Greek and Roman Archaeology: 4 in Literae Humaniores, 2 in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, up to 3 in joint schools involving Classics. Classical Archaeology options can also be occasionally taken by students in Ancient and Modern History (usually 1 student each year), Archaeology and Anthropology (2 students per year) or History of Art (2 students per year). The successful applicant will work with Dr Georgy Kantor, Official Fellow in Ancient History, Dr Emma Greensmith, Official Fellow in Classics, Professor Alison Hills and Professor Nicholas Jones, Official Fellows in Philosophy, and Dr Matt Hosty, Lecturer in Classical Languages. The post offers the opportunity to develop skills in teaching and academic administration in a supportive environment.

The salary will be 0.75 of the University scales 7.1, currently £27,018per annum, pro-rata for the period of appointment and is dependent on qualifications and experience. This figure will be adjusted to grade 6.1, currently £24,249 per annum for candidates who do not hold a doctorate.
