Join Our Team: Pioneering the Future of Space Navigation and Robotics!

The number of space assets in Earth's orbit is rapidly increasing, playing a crucial role in our daily lives. As access to space becomes more affordable and satellite constellations expand, new commercial opportunities are emerging, particularly on space stations and transfer vehicles. To support this growth, scalable space logistics solutions are essential for the sustainability and success of space infrastructure.

Our team leads the development of autonomous navigation systems for the maintenance, servicing, and safe disposal of satellites. We also provide advanced robotic services for capturing, transporting, and repairing space assets, including spacecraft, orbital debris, and payload manipulation. We're looking for an exceptional candidate to tackle complex computer vision challenges in space. If you’re passionate about shaping the future of space navigation and robotics, this is a unique and exciting opportunity!

Role Description

As a member of our perception team, you'll work across diverse research areas to advance computer vision algorithms from prototype to production, collaborating closely with various teams and stakeholders. Fast prototyping and iteration are critical in this role. You'll be responsible for implementing and integrating state-of-the-art computer vision models that enable scalable space logistics. This includes solving complex problems such as:

- Metric perception of targets and scenes in deep space

- Robust perception in dynamic environments with changing light conditions

- Integrating cutting-edge computer vision methods with satellite sensors (e.g., star trackers, IMU, GNSS)

- Deploying scene understanding techniques on resource-constrained computing platforms

You should be comfortable exploring new areas of computer vision, conducting research, and applying your insights to practical applications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in computer vision research, experience managing the machine learning lifecycle, and a passion for software engineering. Join us in navigating spacecraft through Earth’s orbit and beyond!

Minimum Qualifications

- Experience with Machine Learning (ML), with a particular emphasis on Computer Vision (CV)

- Expertise in 3D Computer Vision and scene understanding

- Familiarity with research papers, implementing state-of-the-art methods, and adapting them to practical applications

- Ability to develop custom algorithms to solve specific computer vision problems

- Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with fine-tuning approaches and training models

- Proficiency in Python, especially with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras, and libraries such as NumPy, OpenCV, and scikit-image

- Understanding of software development best practices, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

- PhD or published research in the field of Machine Learning, AI, or Computer Vision

- Experience designing perception solutions for robotic applications

- Knowledge of C++ for performance optimization and working with low-level vision algorithms

- Skills in optimizing model performance, including model pruning, quantization, and deployment in embedded systems using hardware acceleration (FPGAs, GPUs, or TPUs)

- Experience with simulators such as MuJoCo, IsaacGym, Unreal Engine, or others

- Experience working in cross-functional teams

Join us on this exciting journey and be part of the future of space logistics!
