The role



Here

at Northumbria Police, we think our region is amazing! It takes a great deal of

Management Department as a Data Management and Assessment Researcher.



As

a Data Management and Assessment Researcher you will have overall management of

Long-Term Retention (LTR) evidential property and multiple exhibit assets

stored within Northumbria Police. You

will make an informed decision for retention or disposal as appropriate for

property that has been seized relating to crime and/or prosecution.



What you’ll

do



  • To carry out a balanced and

    informed review of LTR evidential property and multiple exhibit assets held

    within the current and legacy Property Systems, making an informed decision

    regarding further retention or disposal ensuring that only items of property

    that are required for court or for other justifiable reasons are retained.

  • To interrogate crime and

    prosecution records relating to the LTR evidential property and multiple

    exhibit assets to establish whether it is necessary to hold onto the physical

    property or whether a digital image could be taken and the property disposed of.

  • To provide expert, supportive

    and timely advice and guidance to frontline practitioners, supervisors and

    managers relating to long term retention of evidential property.

  • Ensure continued awareness of

    practitioners and other key internal and external stakeholders of the

    importance and significance of retaining the best evidence appropriate to the

    circumstances.

  • To ensure that Northumbria

    Police Policies and Procedures relating to the Retention and Disposal of Long

    Term Evidential Property and multiple exhibit assets are constantly upheld and

    utilised ensuring compliance with relevant statutory instructions, national and

    departmental guidance.
