Position Overview:

Are you passionate about digital technologies and programming? Do you have the skills to inspire the next generation of coders and digital experts? Bolton College is looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Digital and Computing Lecturer with a focus on Programming to join our dynamic team.

 About the Role:

As a Digital and Computing Lecturer, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing a range of courses with a strong emphasis on programming. You will be working with learners at different levels, helping them develop critical skills in coding, software development, and other essential digital technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a range of digital and computing subjects, with a primary focus on programming (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
  • Deliver engaging lessons that cater to students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Develop innovative teaching materials to inspire and challenge learners.
  • Support students through coursework, projects, and exam preparation.
  • Monitor student progress, providing feedback and guidance to ensure success.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuous improvement in curriculum delivery.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and integrate them into your teaching.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a related field (e.g., Computing, IT, Software Development).
  • Experience teaching programming or related digital technologies in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of various programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, HTML, CSS, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
  • A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
