Role Description:

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to be part of our Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (ACR) team, to deliver both theory and practical sessions and to also undertake reviews in the workplace.

You will plan, deliver, and assess identified vocational programmes including commercial activities and drive developments within the area, supporting apprentices to achieve on a range of programmes. As well as carrying a teaching load, this role will assess/review apprentices completing ACR Apprenticeships in the workplace and will support the apprentices’ progress through the relevant programmes at intermediate and advanced levels.

The role requires monitored visits to see apprentices and employers in the workplace, as well as frequent attendance at the Station Park Centre, liaising with technical delivery staff and supporting apprentices with the knowledge requirements. The successful candidate would be within the Mansfield area or reside at a location that allows a daily commute to our Station Park Centre

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To co-ordinate, design, deliver and develop a programme(s) of study for a group(s) of learners and apprentices in college, in the workplace and at employer’s premises.
  • To support the apprentice to meet all of the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of their apprenticeship standard. Working in conjunction with the employer you will tailor your delivery to compliment the learning, development and continuous assessment being managed by the employer and support the employer to do this effectively.
  • To utilise your professional knowledge and skill to regularly review the apprentice’s progress against the standard and in conjunction with the apprentice and employer, make informed judgements that clearly demonstrate that the apprentice is deemed competent against the relevant requirements of that standard.
  • To prepare the apprentice to be able to demonstrate consistently that they have met the required sector set professional standards enabling them to be supported through gateway to end point assessment. This will include supporting the employer to confidently decide at what point this will take place.
  • To develop best practice in learning, teaching and assessment ensuring standardisation and continuity.
  • Assess learner/apprentice competence, knowledge and understanding according to college and awarding body assessment criteria.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Teaching Qualification (DTLLs,PGCE) or willing to work towards
  • Level 3 qualification in relevant sector
  • Maths and English level 2
