We are now seeking a passionate and experienced ESOL Lecturer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the success of both our adult learners and our 16-19 year-old students.

Role Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic ESOL Lecturer to deliver engaging and effective lessons to a diverse group of students. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering ESOL courses, ensuring that all learners make significant progress in their language proficiency. You will be working with adult learners as well as 16-19 year-olds, helping them develop their English language skills for further education, employment, and integration into the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver ESOL lessons that cater to the needs of both adult learners and 16-19 year-olds.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Develop and adapt teaching materials to suit the varying abilities and learning styles of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop innovative teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Support the college’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Requirements:

  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
  • A qualification in ESOL (e.g., CELTA, DELTA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience teaching ESOL to adults and young learners.
  • Strong knowledge of the ESOL curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Experience in using technology to enhance teaching and learning is desirable.
