At Clarus Education, we are working with an FE College who are seeking to appoint a FE Mathematics Lecturer based in Harrow, North London.

We are seeking to appoint a full time Lecturer to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills Maths within our cross-College provision, primarily to vocational learners aged 16-18.

You would play a key role in supporting our vocational learners with their development and to help them progress onto higher courses or the workplace. 

You would join a team of skilled teachers with a wealth of experience and knowledge, who are pro-active in sharing best practice with the team in order to engage and enthuse resit learners.

You will preferably possess a degree in Maths or a related subject, with experience of teaching or tutoring Maths GCSE and/or Functional Skills and have the ability to engage and enthuse 16- to 18-year-olds from a variety of vocational disciplines. 

 If you do not already possess the Level 5 teacher training qualification recognised by the FE sector, the College will support you to obtain this.

Person Specification:

* Degree or equivalent in Maths or related subject (or minimum of Level 3 qualification plus proven successful experience of teaching GCSE Maths for at least 2 years)
*An advanced level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET, PGCE) ** or willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification, supported by the College
*Experience of tutoring/teaching GCSE and Functional Skills in Mathematics in a school or Further Education college environment
*Ability to demonstrate excellent teaching and learning which evidences the raising and/or maintaining of student achievement and progress.
* Evidence of delivering high rates of student attendance, retention and achievement, including details of the methods you have used to achieve this
*The ability to take on course leadership responsibility
* The ability to engage and inspire vocational learners aged 16-18
