The vacancy

DN Colleges Group is seeking to recruit a part time member of staff to teach on its FdA / BA (Hons) Game Development programme.

You should have experience of teaching on under-graduate Game Development programmes of study and be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of innovative teaching strategies appropriate to this subject area.

Successful candidates will ideally hold a Masters level qualification in Game Development or related subject area and possess a teaching qualification or be a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Although not mandatory, it would be beneficial to have experience within the Games industry or associated industry. 

You will be required to teach various modules across the programme. These could include: 3D Game Art Fundamentals; Game Design Fundamentals; Game Animation Fundamentals; Contextual Studies; Game industries.

Essential to the role is advanced proficiency in some of the following: implementation of game mechanics in a contemporary game engine (Unreal Engine/Unity); understanding of game art and animation workflows and implementation in contemporary software (Maya/3DS Max/Blender); knowledge of game design theory and industry practices.

The successful applicant will join a team that covers the range of Game Development related skills. Therefore, applications are encouraged from practitioners with expertise in any aspect of the Game Industry.

The role is part time, 2 days per week - to be confirmed.
