Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching in Health and Social Care across a range of levels (Level 2 to Level 5)
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans and schemes of work in line with curriculum guidelines
  • Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in the health and social care sector, incorporating this into teaching materials
  • Contribute to the development of innovative teaching methods and course materials
  • Provide pastoral support to students, encouraging a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including industry professionals, to enhance the learning experience and provide opportunities for work placements or guest lectures

Essential Requirements

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in Health and Social Care or a related field
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one
  • Recent and relevant experience in Health and Social Care, either in a teaching or professional capacity
  • Strong knowledge of current Health and Social Care practices, standards, and legislation
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to motivate and inspire students from diverse backgrounds
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in education

Desirable

  • Experience in delivering BTEC, CACHE, or other vocational qualifications
  • Knowledge of digital learning tools and a willingness to incorporate technology into teaching
  • Previous experience working in a Further Education setting
