Junior Research Group Leaders (f/m/d)

in the following interfaculty research fields:

1.  AI-related competencies of STEM-teachers
2.  Ancient Antisemitism
3.  Digitalisation and access to justice
4.  Green & smart mobility
5.  Optical quasiparticles and their applications
6.  Sustainability in Translation
7.  Tracking and fighting diseases with cellular immunity

We want to attract exceptionally qualified early career researchers who are working on the above listed new and pioneering research topics which they will pursue independently. Successful candidates will present a highly original and ambitious research plan that concisely describes the background and status of the questions to be addressed, the ultimate research goals, as well as the strategies and methods that will be employed.

We are looking for individuals with

  • a track record of internationally recognised research in one of the proposed research areas,
  • an innovative, interdisciplinary and ambitious research programme that advances the abovementioned fields, and
  • initial experience in applying for intramural or external funding and interdisciplinary research collaborations.

We offer

  • an initial appointment for 5 years in a supportive, collaborative research environment to embark on a visionary research programme, significant core funding and limited teaching responsibilities to advance as an independent researcher,

The renumeration package comprises a competitive salary according to the pay scale for the public sector in Germany (TV-L), a comprehensive pension scheme, medical and social benefits.   • a research concept which outlines the proposed research project including preliminary work and a description of how the project will advance the respective field at JMU (max. 5 pages, Arial 11pt, single line spacing),
  • your CV, including proof of academic qualifications obtained,
  • a complete list of publications,
  • and at least two academic references.
