About the role

The key responsibilities of the role include leading the development of impactful research in chemical engineering and its applications to process, manufacturing, energy, healthcare, and environmental systems. You will be expected to conduct and publish high-quality, world-class research that complements existing departmental and Faculty activities, while securing research grant funding to support your programme. The role also involves developing national and international partnerships with industry, academic institutions, and other relevant organisations to maximise research impact. Additionally, you will support postdoctoral researchers, as well as PhD, MSc, and undergraduate students, and contribute to the teaching of current or new modules relevant to the post.

The post is a UCL grade 8 (Lecturer) or grade 9 (Associate Professor) post as per UCL’s non-clinical grade structure.

This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL welcomes applications from international applicants who require a visa.

About you

The key skills required for the post are a first degree and a postgraduate degree in engineering, sciences or other relevant disciplines, or equivalent qualifications and/or experience, with the first degree preferably in chemical engineering; an appropriate background and research expertise to make contributions at the forefront of research with emphasis on the areas of relevance to the post; combined with excellent people skills and the ability to build good relationships with students, colleagues and external partners.
