Based at the Rye hill campus, Newcastle College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Hospitality and Catering, specifically delivering across Further Education and Higher Education programs.

The main responsibilities of this role include effective planning, teaching, learning and assessment of further education students within this discipline, development of skills, behaviours and knowledge and ensuring the curriculum offer is current and relevant, and the department is compliant with any internal or external audits/inspections.

The role will support existing Curriculum staff in preparing for delivery and assessment of high-quality learning programs across Hospitality and Catering provision, as well as undertaking a range of administration duties.

This post requires a strong background in Hospitality and Catering and the candidate must have a proven record of professional and vocational expertise. The role will include supporting students across a wide range of enrichment activity including competitions, therefore successful candidate must be able to drive.

The candidate must have a recognised teaching qualification (or working towards), as well as a vocational relevant qualification to (Level 3) or relevant industry experience and hold English and Math’s qualifications at level 2FS/ GCSE Grade 4. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of working within an FE sector.

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
