About The Role
"Education is not the filling of a pail, but a lighting of a fire" WB Yeats As a Lecturer of English at EKC Folkestone College, we want you to spark the imagination for the English Language in all levels of our students to help them find their joy of language and the written word in all its forms. This role requires the successful candidate to work 18.5 hours per week, with a pro-rata salary of £17,365 up to £19,044 per annum. You will teach, train and assess students, ensuring a high-quality learning experience. You will work closely with the members of the department to produce accessible, interesting and up to date material to encourage our young people to enjoy their study programmes in full. Your role will also include providing support to learners to enable them to achieve their maximum potential and enjoy their study time in our department. About You
You will be highly organised, creative and have a good sense of humour. You must be able to plan and teach engaging and innovative lessons with demonstrated interpersonal skills. Assessing and tracking student progress, to further plan intervention this will be a vital part of the role and ensuring all students develop the skills they need to succeed.
Ideally you will have experience of teaching or have delivered training in the workplace although this isn't essential as training will be offered to the successful applicant. You must have a positive outlook, be empathetic towards learners and have strong class management skills.
You will be able to teach a range of designated study programs and/ or courses from Level 1 up to Level 3 and will be able to motivate learners to achieve and succeed on their programmes of study
