You would be joining our English Department at an exciting time; the department boasts a dedicated, experienced and well-qualified team of teachers/tutors, including English GCSE examiners, literacy leads, and SEN specialists. We have a passion to innovate, excel and make a difference to the lives of our learners.

You will be a qualified teacher and will have experience of delivering GCSE/FS English to resitters or lower ability learners, will understand the barriers to learning that our students may arrive with and will have strong inter-personal skills as building relationships with these learners is crucial to maximise their potential. Other duties include involvement in collaborative planning, development of innovative and exciting resources and administrative duties associated with student monitoring.

The successful applicant will work as part of an established English team on either of our campuses with the key aim of developing the English skills of our learners who will be mainly GCSE re-sitters or studying an entry level Functional Skills maths qualification.

If you are able to motivate and engage learners and are able to create a safe and positive learning environment for our learners, many of whom have experienced perceived failure in English, then this role could be for you!
