Role Description:
- Plan, deliver, assess, evaluate, and manage classroom activities to maximize learner achievement and success.
Teaching and Classroom Duties:
- Teach a variety of study programs to maximize learner success.
- Set, monitor, assess, review, and record learning outcomes and progress.
- Provide pre-course, on-course information, advice, and assessment to support learners.
- Ensure correct enrollment and track attendance, progress, and achievements.
- Ensure compliance with service policies for visitors.
- Prepare and assess learners for program completion.
- Provide necessary information for exams or other assessments.
- Design and develop courses aligning with service objectives.
- Provide written course information for dissemination.
- Stay updated on professional developments and participate in CPD programs.
- Attend and contribute to team and service meetings.
- Contribute to service-wide initiatives and events.
- Participate in the annual professional cover duty rota.
- Contribute to quality improvement strategies and annual self-assessment.
- Promote and work within Council’s policies on Equal Opportunities.
- Adhere to service and Council policies, including health and safety, data protection, and financial regulations.
- Align actions with the Council’s climate and ecological emergency declaration.
Essential:
- Level 3 Teaching Qualification (commitment to achieve Level 4).
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Degree or higher-level qualification relevant to the program area.
- Assessor/Verification Qualification.
- First Aid Qualification.
Essential:
- Successful adult teaching experience.
- Experience working with adults of different abilities and motivations.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Experience with OFSTED Inspection framework.
- Experience managing and supporting staff.
Essential:
- Understanding of contexts and factors influencing adult learning and success.
- Awareness of local adults’ learning and skills needs.
Essential:
- Proficiency in ICT and its application in teaching.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to equality of opportunity and learner support.
- Effective timekeeping and administrative skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement aligning with the service’s mission.
