Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £31,930 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Hairdressing and Barbering to join our Hair and Beauty department at The Bedford College Group .

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Teaching and Assessment - Prepare, deliver, assess, and verify Hairdressing and Barbering programmes, meeting students' individual needs and ensuring high-quality learning experiences.
  • Curriculum Development - Contribute to curriculum development, prepare up-to-date schemes of work, and implement new learning materials.
  • Student Support - Guide students to achieve success, monitor progress, maintain records, and extend learning experiences through vocational opportunities.
  • Administrative and Quality Processes - Complete administrative tasks, participate in course team meetings, implement quality processes, and contribute to course reviews.
  • Marketing and Safeguarding - Participate in marketing activities, ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, and health and safety requirements, and engage in continuous training and development.
  • About you:

  • Qualifications and Experience - Level 3 qualification in Hairdressing and Barbering, willingness to achieve teaching certification, assessor qualification, and recent industry experience.
  • Skills and Abilities - Strong organizational skills, effective communication, ability to prepare schemes of work, monitor student progress, and demonstrate strong teaching skills.
  • Values and Attributes - Commitment to college values (Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, Honesty), promoting equality and diversity, and making a positive team contribution.
  • Professional Development - Willingness to continuously update skills and knowledge, flexible approach to work, and awareness of health and safety requirements.
  • Additional Requirements - Ability to travel to all college locations, safeguarding responsibilities, and maintaining appropriate relationships with students.
