Sefton Sixth Form College is a sixth form college in Litherland, Sefton. It is a part of Hugh Baird College and was formerly known as the Hugh Baird College South Sefton Campus. The Sixth Form was founded in 2009, and is a vibrant, state-of-the-art campus offering an extensive choice of A-level subjects, as well as a small number of BTEC and GCSE courses. The campus is located approximately 7 miles away from Liverpool City Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach both A-level English Language and A Level English Language and Literature combined
Implement effective feedback and assessment systems
Deliver lessons aligned with TLA Principles
Contribute to curriculum innovation, development, and implementation
Maintain a professional learning environment
Contribute to the delivery of the enhancement program
Main Tasks:
Deliver motivating and inspiring teaching and learning
Develop assessments and provide constructive feedback
Facilitate learning using appropriate materials and methods
Utilise technology to enable independent learning
Embed employability skills through teaching and learning
Consistently challenge lateness and attendance concerns
Establish and maintain relationships with students
Take part in reviews of course performance and curriculum development
Participate in professional development and training activities
Criteria
Possess a degree in English Language and/or Literature or a related subject.
Possess a PGCE/Certificate of education or equivalent teaching qualification.
Possess a qualification in Maths and English levels 4<br/><br/>9 (GCSE Grades A<br/><br/>C) or equivalent.
Track record of successful teaching experience within a Sixth Form setting, preferably teaching A level English Language and/or Literature.
Detailed knowledge of relevant course subject matter and examination and assessment requirements.
Understanding of value added and the use of progress performance measures.
Experience of developing and maintaining external partnerships to enrich teaching and learning.
Ability to provide clear, direct and constructive written and verbal feedback.
