Lecturer in Contemporary British History (post-1914)

The School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics (HAPP) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to recruit a talented Lecturer in Contemporary British History. 

You will be appointed on a full-time, thirteen-month contract and will play an active role in the School’s research and teaching activities at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and will work closely with colleagues from across the School.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

  • PhD in History.
  • Record of publication of research outputs appropriate to stage of career.
  • A research focus in British History in the period since c.1914.
  • Evidence of effective and innovative teaching at University level appropriate to stage of career, including successful design and delivery of modules.
  • Evidence of ability to contribute to the teaching of survey modules in 20th-century British history, and to design and deliver a specialist course on ‘Thatcher’s Britain’.
  • Evidence of ability to contribute to the development and teaching at Masters level.
