Job summary

Thisopportunity would ideally suit an experienced Band 6 dietitian or above workingin the NHS (or equivalent) that has expertise in teaching, training, andsupervision. This post is suited to working alongside a Clinical role.

Asa Lecturer, you will be involved in supporting the delivery of our dieteticscourses and inter-professional teaching. Youll be able to inspire ourstudents and make a valuable contribution to their learning experience andacademic progression, whilst preparing them for contemporary practice.Alongside this, is the opportunity to develop your career, further your ownclinical academic profile and enhance your teaching expertise, through studyinga PG Cert in Teaching in Higher Education.

Main duties of the job

You must be an HCPC-registered dietitian and have well-developedand current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoreticalissues relevant to contemporary practice.

Ideally, you will be at the forefront of new ways of working inthe NHS, in either primary or secondary settings, demonstrating care innovationand emergent clinical pathways.

The Team is currently developing workstreams in respect of a newcurriculum for our MSc Dietetics (pre-registration) course, innovating apprenticeshipdelivery and creating simulation for professional skills teaching.Additionally, there are opportunities to contribute to our AHP Health andSocial Care Research Centre with a focus on long term conditions. It isenvisaged that you would be part of these innovations, shaping dieteticeducation in higher education, whilst retaining strong links with practice partners.

You will also contribute to our undergraduate Dietetic Degreeapprenticeship course (pre-registration) through teaching, assessing andacademic citizenship/research activity. You will be able to inspire, enthuseand connect with a range of backgrounds.

Equips students with the skills, knowledge and attributes required by employers throughdelivery of the curriculum. Assists with the operational delivery of courses / modules and acts proactively to addressany emerging issues, escalating as appropriate. Essential

  • Teaching, training, and supervising students and peers
  • Well-developed current understanding of practical and

  • Experience in a range of clinical environments and

  • knowledge in at least one of these areas.
  • Knowledge of current developments within the

  • Good honours degree ( UK or 1st Class), or
  • equivalent professional qualification or experience in a

  • Postgraduate teaching qualification (PG Cert or HEA
