Lecturer in International Business

The International Business (IB) Department at Leeds University Business School (LUBS) seeks to appoint one Lecturer in International Business. We are particularly interested in candidates specialising in the areas of International Business, International Management, International Entrepreneurship, MNE Subsidiaries, Global Value Chains, Global Governance and Leadership, applied to issues such as Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) and global Grand Challenges.

As a member of the IB department at Leeds, you will carry out research, teaching, and management within Leeds University Business School (LUBS) and contribute to academic leadership in the field of international business and management to help maintain and further this legacy.

The IB Department at LUBS is an established and internationally esteemed centre of excellence for scholarly research work and teaching in International Business. Its members have made path-breaking scholarly contributions, and work regularly with business and international policy makers, such as UNCTAD, ASEAN, World Bank, the Commonwealth Secretariat and others. Its international standing is evidenced by several Fellowships of the Academy of International Business and medals of achievement from leading journals. In 2022, scholarship in International Business (IB) at the Leeds University Business School (LUBS) was ranked as number 1 in the world in a peer-reviewed article. The research strategy of the Department is based on teamwork and co-authorship, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of the field of international business. 

As one of the leading centres of international business learning and teaching in the world, the Department offers specialised degree programmes that combine high academic standards with practical application in today's rapidly changing business environment. Academics in IB at LUBS provide cutting edge research-informed teaching by bringing their world-leading research and practice expertise into the classroom.

The Department is home to the Centre for International Business at the University of Leeds (CIBUL), one of the world's premier scholarly centres for international business and at the forefront of academia and practice. Research development is divided into eight thematic areas: The Theory of the Multinational Enterprise; The Governance of Global Value Chains; Emerging Market Multinational Enterprises; International Business Policy, SDGs and Grand Challenges; International Business, Migration, and Society; Global Health and International Business; Cross-cultural Management, Diversity, and Inclusion: and Digitalization and International Business.

The department also houses James Edward Lynch India and South Asia Business Centre (JEL ISABC), which promotes and co-ordinates research on South Asian businesses as well as enhancing the University’s profile in the South Asia region. ISABC undertakes inter- and trans-disciplinary research in which expertise across disciplines are integrated together to forge new understanding and new ways of addressing critical sustainability and global grand challenges within the context of the South Asian region.
