About the role:

Writtle College is offering an exciting opportunity for a Land-based Service Engineer to join our team in delivering a new national apprenticeship scheme for CNHi (Case, New Holland Industrial) apprentices. In this role, you will collaborate with a small team of experienced former industry engineers to provide both practical and theoretical instruction in the workshop and classroom.

You will be involved in developing the programme, liaising with employers, partnering with the training centre at CNH Industrial Basildon, and making site visits across the UK. Close collaboration with colleagues in the Writtle College Further Education teams will also be necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in servicing and repairing agricultural machinery and a desire to work with the latest high-tech equipment, such as combine harvesters and balers. Practical experience in field repairs of such equipment is essential, along with the ability to work efficiently, demonstrate commercial pace, and communicate effectively. You should also enjoy working with young adults and be eager to learn new technical subjects and teaching methods. While teacher training is not required, it can be provided by Writtle College, however its an essential requirement to have a English and Maths qualification equivalent to a pass at Level 2, and a vocational qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent. 

Exemplary customer service skills, a valid driving licence, and the ability to travel are crucial for this role. Land-based Engineering is vital for the future success of food production while protecting the environment. This role will help ensure the industry has the skills it needs to secure its future
