About you

You must be a qualified Occupational Therapist and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council alongside having evidence of active continuing professional development and experience in practice.

You will ideally have experience in Occupational Therapy education and possess a contemporary, research informed and forward-thinking approach to Occupational Therapy practice. You should have a willingness to be involved in providing supervision to dissertation students, ongoing pastoral student support and involvement in student recruitment events.

You will have an awareness of the quality assurance processes involved in Occupational Therapy education and how to implement good practice and monitor these.

A high level of organisation and prioritisation skills are essential to enable effective time management of tasks within different work streams to required deadlines. You will utilise effective communication skills to work collaboratively across a variety of professional teams.

Qualifications

Essential;

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in relevant subject
  • Desirable;

  • Master’s degree in relevant subject
  • Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
  • Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale
  • Faculty

    Occupational Therapy sits within the Social, Therapies and Communities subject group, which is part of the Faculty of Health, Education and Society. You will be joining a team which is supportive and committed to your professional development. Other health professions at the university include Physiotherapy, Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, Paramedic Science, Midwifery, Dental Nursing and Health and Social Care.
