Lecturer - Inclusive Practice

As a lecturer in our Inclusive Practice provision you will have the exciting opportunity to work with our students that have an EHCP, ensuring that their individual planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting needs are met. It is essential that you maintain the positive ethos and core values of the college both inside and outside the classroom. Our mission is to empower learners to realise their potential and achieve their aspirations and individual EHCP outcomes. As a Curriculum Practice lecturer you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of our students. You will provide personalised guidance to students, helping them navigate their next steps with cross college, supported internship, employment or with local authority provision.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Have the ability to plan and prepare innovative schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment schedules which motivate students to achieve.
  • Plan and deliver highly effective learning programmes for diverse groups or individuals in a safe and inclusive environment, whilst also ensuring students are stretched and challenged to reach their full potential.
  • Address the individual needs of students and work creatively to overcome individual barriers to learning, both within and outside of the classroom
  • To line manage a high performing team of staff and support the team's development through Personal Development Reviews, target setting, performance management and staff development.
  • Deliver outstanding student success through operational leadership and management of a team of staff including lecturers, and business support staff

Taking Teaching Further

The College actively engages with the Education & Training Foundation's Taking Teaching Further scheme to recruit industry professionals to teach within Further Education.

As industry professionals offer our students industry experience and insight we support our unqualified teachers to learn 'on the job'. You will be given full support throughout your development to fully qualified teacher status. Whilst in employment you would be enrolled onto the Level 3 Award in Education and Training. After completion you can choose to move be onto our Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training qualification. This is a great way for experienced professionals to achieve a recognised teaching qualification whilst in employment.
