About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an appropriately experienced individual to become part of the subject team for the Computing PGCE and to share the leadership of the program.

It is expected that you will engage in relevant teaching and supervision of students, for the PGCE Computing and contribute to course leadership. In addition, the successful candidate will be at the forefront of national developments in learning and teaching methodologies, and to act as a role model for educational innovation through research and teaching activities.

The appointment will be on a part time basis at .20FTE; hours per week.

Due to the nature of the duties, a DBS check will be required.

About you

The successful candidate will a good first degree, or equivalent experience, in an area relevant to Computing education, and have a masters’ (or higher) degree in education or related field (either complete or nearing completion). You will have a Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent, and have experience of working effectively with student teachers and/or other school colleagues to support their professional development, alongside a working knowledge of ITE programmes. In addition, you are able to work with student teachers in a pastoral capacity demonstrating empathy and support for their progress.
