About the role

Main purpose of the job To contribute to teaching and learning and associated activities in the department and to further enhance its role as a leading international academic institution. The post holder will be expected to contribute teaching, in the form of both lectures and tutorial classes, to a number of the department’s undergraduate modules, and to lead one or more undergraduate modules. Teaching financial economics will be one of the post holder’s activities. In addition the post holder will be asked to teach modules across our postgraduate programmes, supervise BSc and MSc dissertations and deliver pastoral care to post-graduate and undergraduate students, including acting as a personal tutor.

About you

You will be educated to degree level in economics, have Comprehensive knowledge of subject matter being taught (financial economics and economic theory, in particular) Experience of teaching, lecturing or other forms of public presentation and proven record of ability to supervise academic work by undergraduates, masters and/or doctoral students. Proven record of ability to manage time and work to strict deadlines. Experience using a virtual learning environment to deliver and support teaching, including managing delivery of a module at undergraduate level. Have an expert knowledge of course subject matter, or publications in REF-ranked journals (economics, including pedagogy) Experience of assessing student work and managing the design and implementation of assessment for an undergraduate module. Experience teaching in same or similar course (undergraduate "economic of finance) Experience and interest in curriculum design and innovation. Training or experience in pastoral care of students. PhD in Economics (or near completion)
