Lecturer (Teaching) in Sustainable Resource Management

About the role

The main purpose of the job is to provide maternity leave cover for teaching responsibilities associated with the delivery of the MSc in Global Management of Natural Resources, working with the programme director, other lecturers, the teaching and learning team as well as PGTAs in the Chemical Engineering department.

The main duties include leading on the delivery of taught modules associated with the MSc, the design, delivery of, and marking of assessment associated with those modules, teaching support for other modules associated with the MSc programme, support for fieldwork in the MSc programme and student support activities.

The salary is £20,.60 ( 40% of £51,) inclusive of London allowance pro rata per annum.

This post is offered part-time at hours per week ( FTE) and is fixed term for 7 months in the first instance.

About you

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Chemical Engineering, or hold equivalent experience. The candidate should also have experience of delivering teaching and assessment associated with the natural resources required for the development of renewable energy technologies, including broad life cycle assessment of those technologies and experience of supporting teaching and assessment related to the extraction and processing of mineral resources, and the environmental consequences of these operations.

Experience of supporting student field trips to geoscience, environmental and nuclear sites and teaching postgraduate students is an essential requirement for this role.
