A Machine Learning Researcher is required by a leading SaaS company focused on developing leading-edge AI-led solutions for the legal and contract management space. Their product is trusted by Fortune 500s and major global enterprises such as Schneider, Morgan Stanley, Qantas, Unilever, IBM, Vodafone, Alstom, and Novartis, to create, negotiate, and manage +5 million contracts worth more than US$300bn across 100+ countries around the world.


Essential Skills


  • 3-4 years commercial experience with NLP tasks such as information extraction, information retrieval, text classification, question-answering, and text generation.
  • Advanced STEM degree (Master/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics, etc.) or equivalent experience in a scientific or technical environment.
  • Deep knowledge of learning algorithms, model architectures and modern ML approaches with a focus on document AI.
  • Rigorous approach to experimentation, development and validation of AI models and pipelines.
  • Curiosity and drive to keep up with the latest AI technologies and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Expertise in software engineering and the AI/ML stack: Excellent coding skills with a focus on Python.
  • Good working knowledge of common data science tools such as numpy, pandas, sklearn, spaCy, etc.
  • Proficiency with popular deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and higher abstractions like Lightning, Composer or the HuggingFace stack.
  • Good working knowledge of Git and collaborative software development.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to structure and implement RnD projects.


What you'll do:

  • Leverage your deep understanding of AI technologies to translate business problems into research projects.
  • Play a leading role in the R&D phase of such projects from data collection and processing, through research, implementation, training and evaluation of ML models to designing and building end-to-end ML solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers to facilitate deployment and monitoring of validated AI solutions.
  • Follow the latest in applied AI research and use that knowledge to solve technical problems and drive innovation within the company.
  • Present research findings, product improvements, and technical strategies to internal stakeholders.
  • Help develop internal libraries and tools to streamline RnD workflows and ensure consistent, repeatable processes.
