Midwifery Student Research Assistant (Fixed-Term, 2-3 weeks)

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic midwifery Student Research Assistant in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences to contribute to a recently funded project from the National Institute of Health Research. The project is designed to develop an intervention to support pregnant women and their birthing partners in the latent phase of labour. Your role will be to hold discussions with women and birthing people to collect views, experiences and feedback. The project will be led by Bournemouth University in collaboration with University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust and other project partners.

The ideal candidate will be enrolled in Year 2 or 3 on an undergraduate midwifery degree course and have a passion for improving the experience of women and their families in the latent phase of labour. You will have excellent communication skills and some knowledge / experience of eliciting and discussing people’s views and preferences both online and in-person. On completion of the interviews and liaison with the digital science team, you will compile a short written report.

You will be given support in developing your knowledge and skills for career progression.
