Context & Job description
Subject: Elastic and plastic properties of iron alloys at extreme conditions
You will join the team of the Nuclear Resonance Scattering (ID14) beamline composed of 7 people and perform the research within the ERC-funded project LECOR (Light Elements in the Core). The project is aimed to refine compositional models of the Earth’s inner core, particularly the nature of its light elements. The candidate will conduct experiments to determine the elastic and plastic properties of various iron-bearing alloys and compounds at conditions of the deep Earth’s interior. Experiments at high-pressure-temperature conditions will be performed at ID14 and also at other beamlines specializing in the experiments under extreme conditions.
