Postdoctoral Research Associate in Deep Perceptual Quality Assessment

Publicerad 2024-09-27

The role

Bristol is acknowledged as a leading centre for the creative industries globally, with the University of Bristol providing its strategic and research leadership. The newly established MyWorld research programme, led by the University of Bristol, builds on the strengths of this regional cluster and on its international connectivity. By fusing contributions from the region’s universities with the creative production and technology strengths of businesses across the world, its aim is to catalyse innovation driven growth, through enabling collaborations and synergies across the creative technologies landscape.

MyWorld is a five-year, £46m R&D programme, including £30m from the UKRI Strength in Places Fund (SIPF) with a further £16m committed from an alliance of industrial and academic organisations. SIPF is a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) scheme that takes a place-based approach to research and innovation funding, with the aim of creating significant local economic growth. It is a major intervention by the UK Government to explore the potential of devolved R&D funding. MyWorld is a flagship for the UK's creative technology sector and is unique worldwide.

This post, linked to the MyWorld programme and funded by an industrial partner, will be appointed at a Research Associate level and will be expected to carry out internationally-leading research in the area of deep video quality assessment.
