A position has arisen for a Postgraduate Administrator in Cambridge. This is a full-time permanent opportunity offering some remote working.

The position supports department heads in all matters relating to postgraduate activity.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise, guide and support prospective postgraduate students and academic staff throughout the postgraduate application process
  • Manage the department’s postgraduate admission process on, liaising with academics, admin staff and university departments. Manages acceptances, referrals, deferrals, withdrawals and rejections, as well as regularly generating reports relating to progress of applications.
  • Key point of contact for all postgraduate related queries from current students and academic staff. Provide or find out information where possible or refer elsewhere as required.
  • Liaise with students, supervisors and Degree Committee regarding changes to student end dates, extensions to funding/study, changes to status and transfers, appointment of examiners.
  • Maintain accurate student files including applications, funding details
  • Criteria:

  • Relevant administrative experience
  • Experience of working in an academic, scientific or research environment
  • Experience of developing or improving record systems or processes
