The post provides technical and practical support to the management of doctoral programmes at the university. The postholder will coordinate a number of key tasks associated with support for Research Degree Boards and will also coordinate activities that help to ensure the accuracy of data about research students on university systems. They will provide support to the PGR manager and work alongside other colleagues in the Graduate School.

About You
The successful applicant will provide proactive support for several Research Degree Boards, including drafting agendas, distributing agendas and papers, acting as Officer at Board meetings, taking detailed and accurate minutes of committee meetings, and carrying out associated actions following board meetings. They will collate and provide data on research students in support of the assurance of quality and standards. They will monitor and report on the progress and engagement of PGR students, including international student engagement and immigration compliance processes. They will support the PGR Manager and provide high quality customer service and effective communication to PGR students, supervisors and other stakeholders.

The Graduate School sits within the Directorate of Research and Knowledge Exchange. At the University of Northampton, all postgraduate researchers are overseen by the Graduate School, which has responsibility for administration, quality assurance and development. The Postgraduate Research Coordinator therefore works with postgraduate research students across the whole University.
