Responsibilities

include planning the academic calendar and faculty teaching schedules, organizing syllabi, building course pages with faculty, coordinating Teaching Assistants, communicating with students regarding expectations, assignments, and outcomes, managing student attendance and engagement, planning/scheduling academic events, as well as identifying and implementing opportunities for efficiencies and process improvement.

The role suits a proactive, results-oriented individual with a positive, can-do attitude. The successful candidate must have high attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, be proficient at managing workload to meet deadlines, and work well within a team. A proven track record of working in an academic environment is preferable. The candidate must be comfortable working with technology, from software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Zoom, to online databases and learning management systems. Candidates should also be comfortable navigating ambiguity, capable of taking initiative and thinking independently, and enjoy an environment in which they are challenged to find solutions and adapt to changing circumstances.

  • Day-to-Day Task and Responsibilities 

  • Supporting the Dean and Academic Team in the operation of academic programs.
  • Liaising with the Registry on student attendance, performance, and other metrics.
  • Advising students on academic issues such as course choices, grades, and academic progress.
  • Handling student academic problems such as poor grades and academic dishonesty.
  • Monitoring general student academic progress and monitoring closely students on academic probation, including coordinating provision of additional support.
  • Addressing student academic concerns swiftly and professionally, in accordance with School policy.
  • Overseeing and coordinating academic-related events and extracurricular projects.
  • Maintaining a visible profile within the student body and ensuring that students have an outlet for any concerns or feedback in general.
  • Bringing any identified student concerns to the attention of the Dean.
  • Assisting professors with academic and logistical issues relating to their courses.
  • Coordinating with peers at other Hult campuses to ensure consistency of policy implementation.
  • Note: This role will require flexibility around weekend scheduling of classes and events. 
  • Requirements 

  • Right to work in the U.K.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience in academic administration or an equivalent function.
  • Minimum 3 years of full-time work experience.
  • Person Specification 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, in day-to-day dealings with faculty, staff, and students, both junior and senior.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • A natural problem-solver, with a mindset that “nothing is impossible”.
  • An independent thinker, able to use their own initiative.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel, to prioritize appropriately, and operate to tight deadlines.
  • Able to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personable, with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships.
  • Native English speaker or fluent level of written and spoken English.
  • Competence in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Canvas, or similar student management systems.
  • Collegial attitude and able to work collaboratively across teams and campuses.
  • An appetite for learning and growing in a fast-paced environment.
