The Developers Club is a pioneering community of emerging property developers that are committed to tackling the housing supply deficit in the UK. As part of our mission to empower the next generation of real estate developers, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Programme Manager in property development to join our team. As the clubs Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of our members by developing and overseeing high-quality teaching modules that encompass the entire property development life cycle. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with real-life property development experience and a passion for teaching and research to contribute to the success of our programme. The role will be overseeing the development and delivery of initially 4 programmes at The Developers Club going from Internship, Academy, Executive and Board (most experienced member with £10m+ in development experience)
About the role:
Curriculum Development:
- Lead the design, development and writing of modules covering all aspects of the property development life cycle, including sourcing opportunities, appraising projects, planning, design, funding, construction, and sales.
Module Work Book:
- Develop and write module handbooks that go alongside the modules being taught in further detail. The delivery of the modules will also be part of this role.
Teaching Excellence:
- Lead the training of our guest speakers in delivering engaging and interactive lectures, seminars, and workshops, ensuring that they inspire members and enhance their understanding of property development concepts and principles.
Programme Certification:
- Spearhead the accreditation of the programme with a professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Management or other.
Industry Collaboration:
- Liaise with industry experts and practitioners to ensure the relevance and currency of our curriculum, facilitating guest lectures, site visits, and industry placements for students.
Member Support:
- Provide academic and pastoral support to member, including advising on research projects, supervising tasks set, and guiding members to achieve their academic and professional goals.
Quality Assurance:
- Maintain high standards of teaching quality and assessment, adhering to relevant policies and procedures, and actively participating in quality assurance processes.
Guest Speakers:
- Finding quality external guest speaker for modules and events.
Learning Management System:
- Identify and implement a new Learning Management System
Supporting University Partnerships:
- Establish and or maintain relationships with Real Estate faculty heads at UK universities. 11. Internship Programme: Overseeing the delivery of the clubs summer internship programme
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Qualifications: A degree in relevant subjects within the built environment. Professional qualifications would be highly desirable.
- Industry Experience: Extensive real-life experience in property development, with a deep understanding of the entire development life cycle, from identification to sales. Experience in liaising with industry professionals and engaging in applied research projects is essential.
- Teaching Excellence: Proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching and curriculum development in higher education, with a focus on practice-focused learning and studentcentered approaches. Experience in setting tasks that reinforce student learning is essential.
- Commitment to Standards: Strong commitment to high standards of classroom practice, with the ability to inspire and motivate students to excel. Experience of teaching or working with young people and a genuine regard for student welfare and success are essential
- Team Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to share good practice, contribute to departmental initiatives, and support colleagues in achieving shared goals.
Role Specifics:
- Base Pay: £50,000
- Bonus: £10,000 (Per annum paid quarterly)
- Days: Monday - Friday
- Hours: 8:30am 5:30pm Monday to Friday (Work From Home optional Thursday)
